Mariestell has worked for 3 years at the Treasury department, her most recent role being that of a senior finance manager. She was involved in the adoption of IPSAS for the Government of Malta. Prior to this, Mariestell worked for PwC for almost 5 years. At PwC she had extensive exposure to international clients, and has been on a number of international secondments including the USA, Canada and Cyprus. Mariestell is a certified public accountant, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Hons) from the University of Malta. She also obtained a professional certificate in taxation and a foundation certificate in Trusts Law and Management and an IFRS Diploma. She is also a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants.
