Alexei Zammit


Alexei Zammit is a Charge Nurse at the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of Mater Dei Hospital in Malta, with extensive clinical experience in critical care and a strong academic and educational background. He holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Malta, where he graduated with distinction, and an MSc in Nursing Studies with a focus on Leadership in Clinical Practice from Oxford Brookes University, awarded with merit. He also earned a BSc in Nursing Studies from the Open University and a Diploma in Health Studies from the University of Malta, both with honors.
Alexei is a dedicated educator and mentor with a passion for advancing clinical excellence through knowledge sharing. He currently serves as a part-time lecturer and clinical mentor at MCAST, the Central Mediterranean Business School, and previously at the University of Malta, delivering lectures in nursing practice, healthcare management, and bridging programs. His educational philosophy emphasizes systems thinking and the integration of theoretical and practical knowledge to improve patient outcomes and professional performance.
Throughout his academic and professional journey, Alexei has contributed to curriculum development, clinical skills training, and the evaluation of healthcare education programs as an external evaluator for the NCFHE. His academic work includes research on quality of life post-cardiac surgery and the role of hospitals as learning organizations, highlighting his commitment to evidence-based practice and organizational improvement.
In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Alexei has completed numerous specialized courses, including advanced life support, airway management, emotional intelligence, and international healthcare systems, further demonstrating his dedication to lifelong learning and professional development.
