Kenneth Debono


Kenneth Debono is the Head of Department of Primary Mathematics within the Curriculum Entitlement at the Secretariat for Catholic Education. He holds a Bachelor in Primary Education from the University of Malta and after twelve years of classroom teaching, took on the challenge of headship. In this role, he collaborates with hundreds of Heads of Schools and primary educators across the church school sector in Malta and Gozo.
With expertise in education, strong leadership skills, and Mathematics approaches in the primary sector, Kenneth is recognised for his energy, efficiency and inclusive approach. He inspires and motivates educators to work towards effective teaching, learning and assessment for all students. He recently completed a Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in the same field.
Apart from this, Kenneth lectures at Knights College, preparing students to become Learning Support Educators. His teaching emphasises both the technical knowledge and hands-on experiences required in the role, while promotion soft skills, such as empathy and compassion, essential qualities for supporting young children with diverse educational and emotional needs.
