Gilmour Camilleri

Gilmour Camilleri currently serves as Chief Economist at the Malta Fiscal Advisory Council. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of Director (Economics) within the Office for Competition at the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA), and previously led the macroeconomic modelling and forecasting team at the Economic Policy Department within Malta’s Ministry for Finance. He is also a Visiting Lecturer within the Department of Economics and the Centre for Labour Studies at the University of Malta, and a Research Support Officer on various academic and policy-oriented projects.

His research interests span Macroeconomics, Applied Econometrics, Environmental Economics, Forecasting, and Policy Analysis. He holds undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Economics from the University of Malta and a Master of Science in Economics and Econometrics at the University of Nottingham, where he graduated with Distinction in 2015. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Economics at the University of Malta.
