Knights Sixth Form

Our strategic evolution, from the Central Mediterranean Business School, positions us as a truly global brand, dedicated to equipping you for success on the world stage.

A sixth form education with a purpose

At Knights, we place a high value on providing our students with a well-rounded sixth form education that prepares them for the real world. In addition to our rigorous academic curriculum, we place a strong emphasis on work-based learning and expose our students to various work experience opportunities and career-focused activities throughout their post-secondary studies. Our goal is to equip our students with the practical skills and experience they need to excel in their chosen profession and to empower them to make informed decisions about their future career paths

Our Sixth Form's approach to learning

At Knights, we adopt a similar education model to the Gymnasium education system, which is highly regarded for its strong academic standards and focus on quality education. Adopted by countries like Sweden, Germany, Austria and Denmark, this model is known for its rigorous and hands-on curriculum and is regarded to be one of the best in the world.  By adopting this proven framework, we aim to provide our students with a world-class education that prepares them for academic and professional excellence.

THE GYMNASIUM EDUCATION SYSTEM

The Gymnasium curriculum often includes mandatory internships or ‘praktikum’ to provide students with practical work experience. These internships are integrated into the academic calendar and can range from a few weeks to several months.

Schools establish partnerships with local businesses, industries and organisations to provide internship opportunities. These partnerships ensure that students have access to relevant and meaningful work experiences in various fields.

Career counsellors and teachers play a crucial role in helping students find suitable internships. They provide guidance on application processes, preparing resumes and developing interview skills.

Internships are often accompanied by reflective assignments or projects. Students may be required to keep journals, write reports, or give presentations about their experiences. This reflection helps students connect their practical experiences with their academic learning and personal development.

KNIGHTS SIXTH FORM EDUCATION MODEL

At Knights, we adopt a similar model to the prestigious Gymnasium systems in Europe to ensure our students gain the practical skills and experience necessary for success in both higher education and professional environments.

Our educational approach is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of their chosen field, coupled with the practical skills necessary to excel in today’s dynamic professional landscape.

Beyond imparting theoretical knowledge and exposing students to hands-on training, we prioritise the development of essential skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking and effective communication.

These competencies are highly sought after by employers and are instrumental in navigating the complexities of real-world challenges. By fostering a balance between academic rigor and practical application, we aim to cultivate well-rounded individuals who are capable of making meaningful contributions to their respective fields.

Our sixth-form programme is built on this principle, and we strive to ensure that all students leave with a solid foundation, ready to embark on their careers with a degree and practical experience.

Shaping your tomorrow, today

We firmly believe in the potential of every student to achieve great things. We are committed to providing students with the perfect environment to thrive. Whether students are preparing for higher education, entering the workforce or pursuing their passions, we are here to help them succeed and become confident, well-rounded individuals.

OUR APPROACH TO EDUCATION

Building on the success of the Gymnasium model

Considered to be one of the best in the world, the Gymnasium education model is highly regarded for its strong academic standards and focus on quality education.

Adopted by countries like Sweden and Switzerland, this model is known for its rigorous and hands-on curriculum, which prepares students for higher education and careers in a wide range of fields.

By integrating work apprenticeships into the curriculum, Gymnasium systems provide students with valuable practical experience, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application.

At Knights, we adopt a similar model, ensuring our students gain the practical skills and experience necessary for success in both higher education and professional environments.

Hear from Our Students

"Knights is truly different from other schools. Here, we don’t just learn for exams - we learn for life. The school gives us a real understanding of the world of work and teaches us practical skills we can use in the real world. The subjects are relevant, the teaching is inspiring, and I feel more prepared for my future. I would definitely recommend Knights to any of my friends or family who want more than just a traditional school experience."

"I chose the Business Management strand at Knights, and my experience so far has been incredibly rewarding. Being part of the first cohort to join the new Sixth Form makes it even more special. I’ve had the opportunity to start working while studying, which allows me to apply what I learn in real-world situations. Taking part in the JA Company Programme taught me how to collaborate effectively, use technology in a business setting, and understand what it takes to run a small company. These experiences have helped me grow, and I’m excited to keep learning and developing my skills."

"Choosing to study Finance at Knights was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Through the JA Company Programme, I gained hands-on experience that gave real meaning to what we learn in class. Doing my work placement with EY allowed me to apply my studies in a professional setting, which really helped me understand how the business world works. Knights doesn’t just prepare you for exams, it prepares you for life after school. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to combine academics with real-world opportunities."

Institute FAQs

Recognition of Work Placement

Through a professionally guided work placement, students achieve up to 25% of their programme's learning outcomes, gaining valuable real-world experience.

Are there any funding opportunities for this programme?

It’s not just students who benefit from studying at Knights, but parents can too! Through the Get Qualified Scheme, parents may be eligible to receive up to 70% of their child’s course fees back. This government-backed initiative makes investing in education more affordable, easing the financial burden while ensuring students gain access to high-quality academic and practical training. With this added support, families can feel more confident and empowered in their decision to pursue education through Knights.

What kind of one-on-one mentorship support is available for students during the programme?

Each student will be paired with a dedicated mentor who will provide guidance, support and feedback throughout the entire journey to help them navigate challenges, set goals and maximise their learning and growth.

What stipend support is available for students enrolled in the programme?

Post-secondary students who study with us are also entitled to a stipend, which will be paid periodically in backdated four-weekly payments to cover any study-related expenses.

When do students begin the Knights Apprenticeship Programme, and how does it complement their academic studies?

Students will be onboarded to the Knights Apprenticeship Programme which runs alongside the academic programme, allowing students to be immersed in a real-life work context from the second term of their studies.

Is there a learning progression available for students?

Once students complete the Knights Sixth Form programme, they have the opportunity to progress through a structured academic pathway. This begins with enrolment in the BSc programme, followed by the MBA, and ultimately the Doctorate. Completing this progression provides students with a strong academic foundation and practical knowledge. It also prepares them to pursue an MQF Level 5 Diploma in areas such as Business Management, Accounting and Finance, or Computer Science—ultimately leading to a BSc in their chosen field of study.

Which are the elective paths for the sixth form programmes?

The pre-tertiary full-time degree pathway offers students specialisation in three areas: Business Management, Computer Science, and Accounting and Finance. The programme also offers students an insight into core competencies necessary for success at work, such as public speaking, critical thinking and entrepreneurship.

Why work-based learning?

Pre-tertiary work-based learning provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable skills, explore career paths and achieve professional growth, ultimately enhancing their employability and success in the workforce. Students will each be assigned a position with one of our apprenticeship programme partners.

Each student will be paired with a dedicated mentor who will provide guidance, support and feedback throughout the entire journey to help them navigate challenges, set goals and maximise their learning and growth. We are committed to ensuring that the students’ work-based learning experiences align with their academic studies to enhance their understanding of course material and facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the classroom and the workplace.
