Prof. Janine Bosak

Janine Bosak is a Full Professor in Organisational Psychology/Behaviour and HRM at Dublin City University Business School. Janine served as Executive Committee Member of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP) from 2017 to 2022 and she currently serves as elected PDW chair of the Academy of Management (AOM) Careers Division (executive board).

She completed her PhD with summa cum laude at the Department for Psychology, University of Bern (Switzerland). During her doctorate, Janine worked at the Northwestern University (USA) and at the University of Cambridge (UK) as a visiting research scholar. Prior to joining DCU as a lecturer in 2009, she also worked at the Universities of Bern and Fribourg in Switzerland and she was a visiting Research Fellow at Boston University/USA in 2015 and a James M. Flaherty Visiting Professor at HEC Montreal/Canada in 2016. Janine is currently a Visiting Professor at the Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing/China.

Janine was Research Director of the Leadership and Talent Institute (LTI) from 2016-2023 and Director of Doctoral Studies from 2014-2019. She is currently the Business School EDI Committee Chair and Programme Director for the MSc in Work and Organizational Psychology/Behavior programme. Janine is also the winner of the 2025 President’s Excellence Award in PhD supervision in Dublin City University.  

Janine conducts research, teaches and consults in the areas of
1.) Women and Leadership; and
2.) Employee Well-being in Organizations.

She is also a certified and trained business coach who advances the systemic and solution-focused approach to coaching.

Janine has published in journals including Journal of Organizational Behavior, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Human Resource Management (US), Human Resource Management Journal, and British Journal of Management. Her research programme has attracted several fellowships, grants and awards from bodies including the European Science Foundation (ESF), Swiss National Foundation (SNF), German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Society of Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) and the Ireland Canada University Foundation (ICUF). Currently, Janine is a Consulting Editor of the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology (JOOP) and the European Journal of Social Psychology (EJSP). She serves on various editorial boards (e.g. HRMJ, JPP, JOEPP). She is also a member of the Academy of Management, the European Association of Work and Organisational Psychology, and the European Association of Social Psychology.
