The module will also focus on the challenges and risks associated with transformational change and the importance of stakeholder engagement and collaboration in ensuring successful outcomes.

Critical Thinking and Analytical Mastery
This module will equip learners to critically analyse and present complex ideas, theories, and arguments with well-supported insights. This module explores the significance of ethical leadership in today’s business environment. Students will examine the role of leaders in shaping the values and culture of their organisations and the impact of these values on stakeholder relationships and business outcomes. The module will also consider the challenges and opportunities presented by the increasing focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and the role of leaders in driving change. Mutiple case studies will be used as examples to identify the good traits of ethical leaders and their role in shaping stakeholders relationships. Case studies will also contribute to identify challenges that ethical leaders have to face in the business contexts. The latter will also be explored with a particular focus on ESG.

Entry Requirements

The below are the requested entry requirements

The entry criteria for the Knights College DBA programme require students to hold a Level 7 Master’s Qualification, and/or 10 years of industry experience in a leadership/managerial role. Candidates must also have an academic or professional knowledge of key financial and marketing business practices and processes and if not – they will need to successfully complete two modules at MQF 7 focusing on strategic marketing and strategic financial planning that may be followed at Knights College or any other comparable organisation.

Students who do not possess one or the other of the above entry requirements may still apply by submitting a 1000-word motivation letter highlighting their academic or professional achievements and giving reasons why they feel they are eligible to enrol on the said programme.

Funding Schemes

As an MQF Level 8 qualification, the DBA carries no cap on the doctoral tax credit, meaning up to 70% of your tuition costs are recoverable through a government tax credit applied after completion. In addition, you are eligible for a €10,000 attainment bonus on successful graduation.

This is not a discount. It is a government-backed entitlement available to eligible students enrolled from January 2026.

  • Application window: up to one year after completing your programme

How it works:

Once you complete your DBA, you visit the Malta Enterprise Get Qualified portal, submit your application online, and receive your tax credit certificate. Knights College will provide all documentation required.
