This module equips learners with advanced knowledge and practical insight into strategic leadership and effective management.

By exploring key leadership theories and management frameworks, learners will develop the skills to identify, evaluate, and apply approaches that align with organisational goals, departmental needs, and strategic priorities.

With a strong emphasis on real-world application across diverse and dynamic business environments, the module prepares learners to lead through complexity, drive innovation, and build high-performing teams in senior and strategic leadership roles.

Learners will learn how to:

  • Demonstrate the application of emotional intelligence principles to enhance leadership effectiveness, fostering stronger relationships and better team dynamics within organizations.
  • Conduct a critical self-assessment to identify personal leadership strengths and areas for improvement, applying insights to refine leadership practices.
  • Communicate strategically and effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, alignment, and engagement across organizational levels.
  • Provide tailored support and mentorship to team members, fostering their development and contributing to a high-performing and collaborative organizational culture.
  • Adapt and implement leadership styles that align with organizational objectives and cultural dynamics, demonstrating flexibility and strategic awareness.
  • Apply advanced leadership and management techniques, including frameworks such as Vroom’s Expectancy Theory, to address workplace challenges and achieve strategic goals in real-world contexts.
  • Present organizational objectives clearly and persuasively to ensure team alignment, motivation, and a shared understanding of strategic goals.
  • Critically evaluate the relevance and applicability of leadership and management theories, such as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, McGregor’s Theory X and Theory Y, Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, McClelland’s 3 Needs Theory, and Vroom’s Expectancy Theory, to varied organizational scenarios.

Mode of Assessment

This award will be assessed through the use of a case study.
