It covers the full range of cost management activities, including cost planning, estimation, budgeting, monitoring, and control, ensuring projects are delivered within approved financial constraints.
Through a combination of theoretical frameworks and practical application, students develop competence in cost estimation techniques, budget preparation, and cost control methods. The module highlights the critical role of cost management in achieving project success and introduces key tools for financial analysis and reporting. Real-world case studies and practical exercises further enhance learning by enabling students to apply cost management principles to realistic project scenarios.
A mixed-method assessment approach will be utilised for this programme. This will include the use of a group project / presentation (30 %) and an assignment (70 %).
This course is intended for those who are aged 21+ involved in project management who want to develop practical skills in planning, estimating, budgeting, and controlling project costs, particularly those responsible for ensuring projects are delivered efficiently within approved financial limits.


Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree and have 2 years of relevant work experience. Excellent command of written English is required.
