The MQF Level 5 Award in Selection and Recruitment is designed to equip students with knowledge and skills related to selection and recruitment, which is a crucial function of human resource management. The module provides an in-depth understanding of the processes involved in selection and recruitment, as well as the overall employment cycle.

Learners will learn how to:

  • Define the primary role of selection and recruitment within human resource management.
  • Ensure effective selection and recruitment processes in line with regulations and with employee rights.
  • Monitor changes in the employment laws which might affect the selection and recruitment process.
  • Collaborate with the finance department in the design of compensation and benefits packages.
  • Examine in detail the different types of interviewing techniques used in selection and recruitment.
  • Plan for and comply with the regulations governing employment.
  • Critically recall and discuss the employment laws which govern selection and recruitment.

Entry Requirements

The below are the requested entry requirements

To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold any one of the following requirements:

  • Diploma pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates
  • Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better
  • Relevant work experience

Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5.

MySkills Scheme

The MySkills Scheme aims to promote a culture of lifelong learning by subsidizing the cost of training for individuals who wish to upskill or reskill. Through this initiative, learners who are not in employment may recover 100% of eligible training costs, while those in employment may recover 80% of the training cost. In both cases, individuals must successfully complete the training.
