It explores both the strategic and tactical dimensions of managing operations, focusing on how organisations can efficiently produce goods and services that meet customer expectations.
Key topics include operations strategy, process design, production planning and control, lean operations, Six Sigma, and quality management. Through a blend of theory and practical application, students develop the skills to analyse, design, and optimise operational processes to improve organisational performance and competitiveness.
The module also highlights the integration of operations management with wider supply chain functions, emphasising collaboration and coordination as critical success factors. In addition, students examine the impact of technology, sustainability, and ethical considerations on modern operations management.
A mixed-method assessment approach will be utilised for this programme. This will include the use of a presentation (30 %) and an assignment (70 %).
This course is intended for those who are aged 21+ who wish to develop a solid understanding of operations and supply chain management, particularly those seeking to build or enhance their knowledge of managing processes, improving efficiency, and supporting organisational performance within production or service environments.


Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree and have 2 years of relevant work experience. Excellent command of written English is required.
