This module provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of operations management within a supply chain context.

It explores both the strategic and tactical dimensions of managing operations, focusing on how organisations can efficiently produce goods and services that meet customer expectations.

Key topics include operations strategy, process design, production planning and control, lean operations, Six Sigma, and quality management. Through a blend of theory and practical application, students develop the skills to analyse, design, and optimise operational processes to improve organisational performance and competitiveness.

The module also highlights the integration of operations management with wider supply chain functions, emphasising collaboration and coordination as critical success factors. In addition, students examine the impact of technology, sustainability, and ethical considerations on modern operations management.
