The MQF Level 6 Award in Information Management in Business enables learners to gain insight into the importance of establishing and managing effective information management systems and processes within an organisation to ensure its success. Information management encompasses the sourcing, gathering, organising, storing, and maintenance of information and data to support informed decision-making, which is crucial to achieving organisational objectives.

Learners will learn how to:

  • Identify links between information systems, management, organisation and the strategy.
  • Discuss in detail how information management allows for the protection of corporate memory and proprietary information.
  • Understand the role of information management when it comes to the dissemination of data between all employees and management.
  • Evaluate the role of managing information effectively when it comes to decision-making.
  • Use word processing or sheets software to prepare and present data in a professional manner.
  • Assess problems and use information based solutions making use of acquired data and information.

Mode of Assessment

The Award in Information Management in Business is assessed through the use of an examination.

Entry Requirements

The below are the requested entry requirements

To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold any one of the following requirements:

  • Diploma pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates
  • Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better
  • Relevant work experience

Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5.

MySkills Scheme

The MySkills Scheme aims to promote a culture of lifelong learning by subsidizing the cost of training for individuals who wish to upskill or reskill. Through this initiative, learners who are not in employment may recover 100% of eligible training costs, while those in employment may recover 80% of the training cost. In both cases, individuals must successfully complete the training. All grants will be capped at €5,000 and are subject to meeting all terms and conditions of the Scheme, including the de minimis Regulation (EU 2023/2831) where applicable
