This Award in Conflict Resolution focuses on the fundamental techniques and tools that managers can utilise to effectively recognise, address, and mitigate conflicts within the workplace. By honing skills in conflict resolution, students can gain invaluable insights into fostering a positive work culture, enhancing communication, and promoting collaboration among team members.

By the end of this Award, learners will have been exposed to:

  • Critically define “conflict resolution” and analyse the key role it plays
  • Identify the crucial role that a manager plays in the effective planning at the workplace
  • Critically examine and identify the need for effective planning for conflict resolution
  • Classify and list the skills required for effective conflict management
  • Promote the use of creative thinking of employees to overcome challenges and conflicts
  • Recall major conflict management styles and strategies widely used in management and discuss their potential implementation.

Mode of Assessment

The Award in Conflict Resolution shall be assessed through a written assignment.

Entry Requirements

The below are the requested entry requirements

To be eligible for the programme, candidates must hold any one of the following requirements:

  • Diploma pegged at MQF Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Matriculation certificate with at least 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates
  • Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better
  • Relevant work experience

Non-native English speakers must also have an English qualification such as CEFR or IELTS 5.5.

MySkills Scheme

The MySkills Scheme aims to promote a culture of lifelong learning by subsidizing the cost of training for individuals who wish to upskill or reskill. Through this initiative, learners who are not in employment may recover 100% of eligible training costs, while those in employment may recover 80% of the training cost. In both cases, individuals must successfully complete the training. All grants will be capped at €5,000 and are subject to meeting all terms and conditions of the Scheme, including the de minimis Regulation (EU 2023/2831) where applicable
